In this program, researchers and scholars will participate in intensive
scientific group research projects primarily utilizing participatory action research (PAR) methodology. In consultation with the CRPI Directors and under the leadership of research fellows or lead researchers, teams of 5 to 7 researchers and scholars will form and propose topics for research. Each research team is expected to produce an academic paper that includes its main findings and solution-oriented policy recommendations and present it to relevant stakeholders at the end of the project.
The CRPI Policy Action Research during summer term is implemented in collaboration with the NUUM and carries up to 9 academic credit hours.
We are currently accepting application for CRPI Summer 2023.
The Capstone Policy Research Project is designed for the NUUM’s students to gain practical knowledge and achieve real world experiences in addressing the issues in the topics that integrate public policy, policy analysis, management, and science/technology in an interdisciplinary framework. Capstone projects in this course also encourage students to connect their projects to community issues and integrate outside-of-school learning experiences. The instructors from NUUM and the lead researchers from CRPI summer programs will lead their capstone projects along with the students each of the regular semesters. Students are encouraged to work with a small group and demonstrate their knowledge based on their interests and majors.
